A Prayer For Our Sons And Daughters To Be Peacemakers In A World Full Of Disunity And Division

“Blessed (enjoying enviable happiness, spiritually prosperous—with life-joy and satisfaction in God’s favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions) are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they shall be called the sons of God!” ~ Matthew 5:9 (AMPC)

Five years ago, the Lord birthed a prayer ministry through my girlfriend, Maureen, and myself. We began praying and fasting for our young adult children, and for future generation of Christ followers to come. We invited others to join us, and praise God, many did. We named this ministry The Red Sea Road Prayer Ministry.

The cry of our heart for The Red Sea Road Prayer Ministry is that our prayers be seeds that produce a vineyard of faithful Christ followers, for generations to come.

We pray week after week to the Almighty One for our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, for many generations to come, that they would to walk in accordance to His ways, and that they would be warriors for Christ and His kingdom here on earth.

This prayer ministry is still thriving today, and never has there been a greater need for it. A bi-monthly newsletter is sent to all that have subscribed to the ministry, and we pray and fast one day a week (independently) for specific prayer points. There is a list of names in the newsletter and we pray for each son and daughter by name. We may not know them, but God does. Our children are in a spiritual battle, and the most powerful thing we as parents can be doing is to be in fervent prayer for them.

Together, as part of the Red Sea Road Prayer Ministry, we have seen God part the Red Sea and move powerfully in the lives of our children, their families, our descendants.

With a new year upon us, and because of all the disunity in our world, I felt led to share this weeks Red Sea Road prayer point. My hope is that you will join us to pray to the Lord for change to happen in our beautiful country and world. This change will most likely come through you and I, as well as through our children and grandchildren, as we walk in love, peace and unity. This is how the world can come to know the savior of the world, Jesus Christ. In John 13:35 we are told that Jesus said, “For when you demonstrate the same love I have for you by loving one another, everyone will know that you’re my true followers.”

Brooke Fraser wrote a song many years ago, called “Hosanna.” They lyrics always brought tears to my eyes then, and they still do today. Please take a minute to listen to this prophetic and anointed song.

This Week’s Red Sea Road Prayer Ministry’s Prayer point

In a world full of disunity and divisions. we pray our sons and daughters would be peacemakers and hence shine the light of Jesus to a dark and confused world.

God wants us to be peacemakers. He says when we strive towards bringing unity and peace, we will be recognized as a true child of His, and we will be blessed. We want our children to have favor with the Lord and with man, so we pray for them to be obedient to God’s commandments.

It’s easy to like those we agree with, but a lot more challenging to embrace those individuals that are different than we are.

This week we pray for our sons and daughters to have godly wisdom to discern the difference between compromising their beliefs and walking in god honoring love and acceptance towards others.

This Week’s Prayer

God, we love You, and we are so grateful for Your unconditional love for us. Your abundant grace and mercy for us is overwhelming. Thank You Abba Father. You love us with an unfailing love. O Lord, it is as vast as the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. You care for us so intimately, so deeply. How precious is Your unfailing love, O God! All humanity can find shelter in the shadow of Your wings (Psalm 36:5-7)

Today we pray for our young adult children and ask that You would put a longing and a desire in each one of them to bring peace and unity in all situations. The world we are living in these days is full of anger, bitterness and division. Help our sons and daughters to be different than the world.  Shine Your light on any area of their hearts where they may harbor criticism, resentment and/or a a self righteous attitude. May they come to You Lord God, and repent of any ungodly thoughts. We pray our children would have wisdom and discernment to know the difference between compromising their beliefs and being unloving towards someone that is different than them.

May this generation rise up to take their place, with selfless faith, and bring a revival to our world. Teach our children how to love the way you love, Jesus. Break their hearts for what breaks Yours (lyrics from Hosanna by Brooke Fraser/Hillsong).

Teach our sons and daughters to walk in Your holiness and to become holy as You are holy, Lord (1 Peter 1:16).

Thank You Lord God. Thank You for Your faithfulness and Your goodness. We know You hear our prayers for our sons and daughters.
May lineages be reformed and transformed for Christ and His kingdom here on earth. We need You to intercede in our precious children’s hearts and do a mighty work in them. Let this next generation be revived so that Christ would be accurately represented to a broken and hurting world. Let it start with us and with our children. May we each be true children of God as we strive to be peacemakers.

In Jesus’s most powerful name we pray all of this.
Amen.

May we be peacemakers in a world full of disunity and division, and in this way shine the light of Jesus.

There is a pathway to peace in a world full of chaos, and it begins with you and I. As we learn to be patient and listen to those we disagree with we can learn to love those we don’t agree with. God wants us to be different than the world, and we can do this by our love for one another and for others, especially those that are different than us.

I love how The Message Translation translates Matthew 5:9: “You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.” It starts with you and I, in our homes, with our loved ones, and it extends to those that are in our community and beyond. God help us as we strive to bring unity, love and peace to this world.

Happy New Years.

“Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.” ~ Hebrews 12:14

Tweeny this is so good! I also especially love how The Message Translation translates Matthew 5:9: “You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family
